This is what i have in my mind...
As I see most english teachers teach english as a science not as a skill. So, they do what the science teachers do, such as explaining the rule of a grammatical point, giving students any formulas of forming sentences in english, generic structures of certain texts, etc. And i see this doesnt work well. Then, the result is, after three years learning english at SMP and three years at SMA, students cant speak..
So, lets say...no use, huh?
Then, a question for all of us... What should we, as teachers, do for that poor condition?
maybe, we must change our ....let say... our mind set, from teaching english as science become teaching it as a skill..so, we hope that after the process, they have the skill. Creative teachers are needed in this case.
